The Lives of Others

I am at home a lot lately, basicly waiting for things - the horrid ring of the phone, conditions to improve - and I'm spending way too much time on my computer. Let's face it, I do not have a life to speak of right now. I even started to read other peoples blogs. I find them by using the little "Next Blog" button on top of the page here and I actually got hooked on some. I find myself thinking :"You go girl!" for the texan college girl visiting Paris, France and finally allowing herself to leave her fivestar hotel in Paris' finest neighborhood past eight at night and making it home safely two hours later - after all those europeans seem not to be a bunch of raping mobsters! Congratulations on finding that out! Or the guy from Canada who, like me, loves Against Me! but seems to hate about every other aspect of life. Cynicism galore, but he has an appealing list of favorite books on his page and describes all the misery around him quite entertaining, whether it is true or just imagined. There are others, too. And I was that short of even leaving a comment on their lifes a few times. It's weird how quickly you are drawn to other peoples banalities. Which leads me to the uncomfortable thought that there might be others like me, and that this might be at least randomly be read by somebody after all. Hello there. Hope I'm not too boring to bear...
I caught myself thinking "You have to go out and experience an adventure!" and wonder if I'll ever leave puberty behind. I'm such a kid. You'll see it in the way a line such as "...I saw a play/ and a character said that he was never destined to feel at home" touches me. You did your homework from last night if you know what band this is from.
By the way, the title of this entry referes to a german movie too, which won the foreign language Oscar last year. Go see it, seriously.
