A movie script beginning

Some friends of mine are doing something great but not too smart - they are opening their own little movie theatre. Maybe not the best idea in times of illegal downloads and cheap DVDs but something heartfelt and worth supporting. If they should go down with this project it won't be because I didn't go there.
Last night they had their un-official opening. The place is within an independent arts-center and it is still very much under construction, the seating was awful and the movie they actually wanted to screen got lost while being shipped to them. They had this little film-club before, where they showed 16mm films only and last night we watched another one of those: a compilation of / documentary about silent movies from the twenties and thirties and their beaming stars. Comedians. Buster Keaton and Chaplin and Stan and Ollie. I know, those two weren't silent. Anyways. There were dogs in every bit of film we watched. Dogs must have been very popular. It's incredible how funny all this still is. Some of it a bit unvolutarily but none the less. I love (and did not know before) Fatty and Mable. Who were rescued out of distress by their dog. Who was a very good swimmer...
Later this year my friends will finally open the theatre and it's gonna be good because they really want to do it and honestly love movies. That doesn't necessarily mean they will succeed of course. But if they should go down they will do so with their heads up high.
