We're going on a field-trip. My dad, my sister and myself. We're going to Bruges, Belgium on thursday. By bus. I told you: field trip. We'll be leaving at six in the a.m. and be back late at night. That's going to be interesting. We never went anywhere except the hospital(s) in this constellation, which probabaly doesn't count. Going to the hospital I mean.
Rather typically (for me) we are going there because of this movie I saw. "In Bruges" with Colin Farell whom I usually don't like. But's that's a good movie. And the town must be a very beautiful small old one. Everybody died in that movie, by the way. I told my Dad about it, the film and how pretty the city looked in it and he said yes, he'd been there and went head over heels for the idea. His idea of the two of us going there. This was when my mother was still alive, so the original plan was to leave my sister at home with her. But now that she's gone she'll join uns. I don't really know what to expect. What will we talk about? All day long? Mom? Our now rather shattered lives? I'm a bit scared. This could be uncomfortable. Everybody will bring their cameras. That'll do for some distruction I hope...
Well Belgium. Your chance to persuade me that you are not the strange country I think you are. And your people not as bad and criminal. I'm having serious prejudices here...
I did have a beer tonight. One bottle. Made me feel slightly drunk. Maybe I'm just imagining it...
I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. I'll be able to see out of my eyes. Hooray.
