"I was a chef on the Red October"

Today at 6pm Johanna called and asked me to go to the Adam Green show with her. She got us on the guestlist somehow. How great! I had almost forgotten how fabulous he is! Creepy crowd though, very old and very - strange. A lot of arkward dance action going on. Obviusly Adam himself does the weirdest dance moves, he shakes and waves and wobbles and still manages to stay prince charming at all times. He reminded me of a drunken parodie of Mick Jagger... Highly entertaining anyway. Made me forget the people and the laaame band opening for him. He was sweet. And pretty much wasted I'd say. Don't know if it was just booze or whatever else. I didn't care, really. He is a fantastic singer. And his lyrics are nifty. One of my favorite verses in pop will forever be:

"And I don't go out for brunch/
and I don't go out for cunts/
and I don't go out for months without
my barnes & noble creditcard/"

Haha! No wonder he doesn't get any airplay in the US. Here, though, people mostly seem to not get any of his jokes and puns. Or rudnesses. Nobody laughs where they should.
Can't stop smiling! His drummer wore some sports blouson but nothing underneath but his hairy chest. And Adam wore a fuckin' anarchists' shirt (with the "A" in the circle") with very long fringes on the sleeves. It was ridiculous, especially since he gained quite some weight since I last saw him. It was hillarious. Johanna took pictures, I may post them later to give you an impression of the utter greatness of that outfit. I bought his newest record at the merchbooth. Vinyl. I never can hold myself back... And we ripped a poster outside, as you can see above. It's all torn now but I think I'll keep it anyway. I really love it when something that good jumps at you out of nowhere. I thought I'd watch TV and discuss my many problems with Birger on the phone tonight. Not quite...
